By Be a Pisay Scholar: Applications for 2027 NCE Now Open
Grade 6 pupils who are interested in science and mathematics may now apply for the 2027 Philippine Science High School System National Competitive Examination, with applications open until November 7, 2026.
The Philippine Science High School – Cordillera Administrative Region Campus (PSHS-CARC) in Baguio City is inviting qualified Grade 6 pupils to apply for the 2027 National Competitive Examination (NCE) and a chance to become a Pisay scholar.
The application period runs from April 6 to November 7, 2026, while the examination is scheduled for January 30, 2027.
Who Can Apply for the 2027 Pisay NCE?
Applicants must be Grade 6 pupils for School Year 2026-2027.
According to PSHS-CARC, an applicant must:
- Have a final grade of 85% or better in Science and Mathematics, or belong to the upper 10% of the batch
- Be a Filipino citizen with no pending or approved application as an immigrant to any foreign country
- Be not older than 15 years old by June 30, 2027
- Have at least a satisfactory character rating or its equivalent
- Have not applied in a previous PSHS admission
- Preferably be in good health and fit to undergo a rigorous academic program
Scholarship Benefits
PSHS-CARC listed the following benefits for Pisay scholars:
- Free tuition
- Monthly stipend of up to P8,000 for full scholars
- Uniform and living allowance of up to P4,000 for full scholars
- Dormitory accommodation, if applicable
- Transportation allowance of up to P10,000 for full scholars
- Group accident insurance
- Instructional supplies worth up to P61,000 for Grade 7 scholars, including a laptop, calculator, ADTECH kit, locker, and other supplies
Application Requirements
Applicants are asked to prepare the following:
- Accomplished application form
- 1×1 ID picture
- Copy of the Grade 5 report card
- P300 payment for private school students
The application is free for public school students.
