Tropical Depression Neneng Develops Inside PAR; Two Weather Systems Monitored Outside

A Low Pressure Area being monitored inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) has developed into a tropical depression and has been given the name Neneng.

As of 2:00 PM today, August 18, 2026, LPA 08f had intensified into Tropical Depression Neneng.

Another LPA Outside PAR May Develop

Meanwhile, another Low Pressure Area, identified as LPA 08g, is being monitored outside PAR.

The weather disturbance has a high chance of developing into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours.

Another Tropical Depression Outside PAR

Aside from Neneng and LPA 08g, another Tropical Depression is also being monitored outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

This means that three weather systems are currently being watched: Tropical Depression Neneng inside PAR, LPA 08g outside PAR with a high chance of developing into a tropical depression, and another Tropical Depression outside PAR.
