Typhoon Marce continues to intensify as it moves northwestward over the Philippine Sea. Residents and local authorities in affected areas are advised to remain alert as Marce nears Northern Luzon with a potential landfall later this week.

A Gale Warning remains active over the northern and eastern seaboards of Northern Luzon, posing dangerous sea conditions for mariners.

  • Very Rough to High Seas:
    • Up to 7.0 meters around Batanes, Babuyan Islands, and northeastern Cagayan
    • Up to 6.0 meters along the remaining seaboard of mainland Cagayan and northern Ilocos Norte
    • Up to 5.0 meters on the western seaboard of Ilocos Norte and coastal waters of Ilocos Sur and Isabela
  • Rough to Moderate Seas:
    • Up to 3.5 meters along Aurora and Polillo Islands’ seaboards
    • Mariners of smaller vessels are strongly advised to remain in port, while those navigating moderate seas should take extreme caution if travel is unavoidable.

Track and Intensity Outlook

Marce is expected to continue moving west-northwest today and tomorrow (November 6), eventually slowing and shifting westward. The typhoon is forecasted to approach the Babuyan Islands or northern Cagayan by Thursday afternoon or evening (November 7), potentially reaching peak intensity prior to landfall.
