Tropical Storm Domeng Slightly Intensifies Over Philippine Sea; No Wind Signal Raised Yet

UPDATE June 10, 2026 10:53 AM:

Tropical Storm Domeng slightly intensified while moving northwestward over the Philippine Sea, according to PAGASA’s 11:00 AM bulletin on May 29, 2026. No Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal is currently raised, but Domeng may enhance the southwesterly windflow and bring heavy rains over the western portion of the country beginning Sunday, May 31.

Tropical Storm Domeng, internationally named Jangmi, has slightly intensified while moving northwestward over the Philippine Sea, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in its Tropical Cyclone Bulletin No. 2 issued at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 29, 2026.

As of 10:00 AM, the center of Domeng was estimated at 1,265 kilometers east of Southeastern Luzon, or near 15.7°N, 133.4°E.

The storm now has maximum sustained winds of 85 kilometers per hour near the center, gustiness of up to 105 kilometers per hour, and a central pressure of 994 hPa. It is moving northwestward at 15 kilometers per hour.

Strong to gale-force winds extend outward up to 400 kilometers from the center.

No Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal is currently in effect over any part of the country.

Track and Intensity Outlook

PAGASA said Domeng is forecast to continue moving generally northwestward until Sunday, May 31, before turning north northwestward to northeastward for the rest of the forecast period.

The tropical storm is less likely to make landfall in the Philippines and may exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Monday, June 1.

Domeng is also forecast to continue intensifying and may reach typhoon category by Saturday, May 30, while still over the Philippine Sea. Afterward, it is expected to steadily weaken.

PAGASA emphasized that heavy rainfall and severe winds may still be experienced in areas outside the forecast confidence cone. The track may also still shift within the limit of the forecast cone.

Hazards Affecting Land Areas

According to PAGASA, Domeng is less likely to directly affect the country’s weather condition within the next 24 hours.

However, the southwesterly windflow enhanced by Domeng may bring heavy rains over the western portion of the country beginning Sunday, May 31.

PAGASA said a weather advisory may be issued on Saturday, May 30, in anticipation of the possible heavy rains.

Residents in areas prone to flooding and landslides are advised to monitor weather updates and follow instructions from local authorities.

Severe Winds

While no wind signal is currently raised, PAGASA said the hoisting of a Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal over Extreme Northern Luzon is less likely, but not ruled out.
