Baguio, Parts of Benguet Under Yellow Rainfall Warning; Pilandok Now Outside PAR

Baguio City and several municipalities in Benguet remain under a Yellow Rainfall Warning as the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat continues to bring rains over Northern Luzon, according to PAGASA’s Heavy Rainfall Warning issued at 5:00 PM today, September 3, 2026.

Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Pilandok is now being monitored outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), along with Tropical Storm Saudel, formerly Obet.

Baguio, Parts of Benguet Under Yellow Warning

PAGASA placed the following areas in Benguet under the Yellow Rainfall Warning:

  • Atok
  • Baguio City
  • Bakun
  • Kapangan
  • Kibungan
  • La Trinidad
  • Mankayan
  • Sablan
  • Tuba
  • Tublay

PAGASA said flooding and landslides in flood-prone and landslide-prone areas may still prevail in these locations.

Rains Continue Over Other Parts of Benguet

Light to moderate, and at times heavy rains, are currently being experienced over Bokod, Buguias, Itogon and Kabayan in Benguet.

Similar conditions are also being experienced over La Union, Ilocos Norte and portions of Ilocos Sur, Abra, Nueva Vizcaya and Aurora.

These conditions may persist within the next two to three hours and may affect nearby areas.

Meanwhile, light to moderate, and at times heavy rains, are expected within the next two to three hours over portions of Pangasinan, Ilocos Sur, Abra, Cagayan and Apayao, as well as Batanes.

The next Heavy Rainfall Warning is expected at 8:00 PM today.

Pilandok and Saudel Now Outside PAR

In a separate update as of 2:00 PM today, PAGASA said Tropical Storm Pilandok and Tropical Storm Saudel, formerly Obet, are being monitored outside PAR.

Pilandok had been forecast to leave PAR as it moved away from the Philippine landmass.

Another LPA Being Monitored Outside PAR

PAGASA is also monitoring Low Pressure Area 09a outside PAR.

As of the 2:00 PM update, the LPA has a medium chance of developing into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours.

Meanwhile, LPA 08m has dissipated.

Continue Monitoring Weather Conditions

Despite Pilandok’s exit from PAR, Habagat continues to bring rains over Northern Luzon, with Baguio City and several parts of Benguet still under a Yellow Rainfall Warning.

Residents in areas susceptible to flooding, flash floods and landslides are advised to take precautionary measures. Those living along mountain slopes should remain alert for possible landslides, mudslides and rockslides.

PAGASA advised the public to continue monitoring succeeding weather updates and rainfall warnings.
