Severe Tropical Storm Nika Weakens and Moves Northwestward

  • Intensity: 95 km/h winds near the center, gusts up to 115 km/h
  • Movement: Northwestward at 30 km/h

  • Sea Condition:
    • Up to 4.5 m seas along Ilocos Norte and northern Ilocos Sur – risky for all vessels.
    • Up to 3.5 m seas along Batanes, Babuyan Islands, and Cagayan.
    • Mariners of smaller vessels should take extra precautions or avoid these areas.





Tropical Storm Ofel Enters PAR

Location and Intensity:

  • Position: 1,170 km East of Southeastern Luzon (13.0°N, 134.8°E)
  • Intensity: 75 km/h winds, gusts up to 90 km/h
  • Movement: West northwestward at 25 km/h

Outlook and Potential Impacts:

  • Projected Track: May reach Northern or Central Luzon by Thursday, November 14, potentially as a typhoon.
  • Heavy Rainfall, Strong Winds, and Storm Surge:  Expected in Northern and Central Luzon, with increased risk for eastern portions of Central and Southern Luzon.

Coastal Hazards for Ofel:

  • Up to 4.5 m seas in Ilocos Norte and northern Ilocos Sur. Travel by sea remains risky across these regions.

  • Residents and local officials are urged to monitor updates and prepare for potential evacuations, especially in Northern Luzon.
  • Mariners and small seacrafts should avoid venturing out to sea in affected areas.
