Pepito Intensifies as it moves out of PAR

“Pepito” has left the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) at 7:30 AM and it has intensified into a typhoon at 8:00 AM today (Thursday), October 22, 2020. This update was reported by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) through their Severe Weather Bulletin issued at 11:00 AM today.

Based on the forecast of PAGASA, Typhoon “Pepito” will move northwestward today and turn westward beginning tomorrow. And it is to make landfall over the central portion of Vietnam by Sunday.

Although there is already no Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal in effect, the Northern and Central Luzon may still experience high winds to gale-force winds with occasional gusts due to “Pepito.” According to PAGASA, such conditions are more likely to be experienced in coastal and mountainous areas.
