Baguio City Barangays, Urged to Conduct Dialogue with Residents in Potential Outbreak Areas

Punong barangays have been recently urged by Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong to visit the operations center of the city. This is to be appraised on the identified potential outbreak areas in their barangays.

According to the Mayor, it is best for the barangay officials to be aware of their own situation and to inform their constituents to comply with the basic health protocols to prevent the increase of cases in the city.

Since the transmission of the virus has already shifted to the households, Mayor Magalong reminded that it is important for the barangay officials and barangay health emergency response teams (BHERTs) members to intensify information and education campaign.

To help in informing and educating their constituents with regards to the basic health protocols to control the spread of the virus, barangay officials and members of the BHERTs are being requested to conduct a dialogue with the residents in potential outbreak areas in their barangays.

Based on the report published by the Public Information Office of the City of Baguio earlier this morning of Thursday, October 22, 2020, the city government will produce some 3,000 tarpaulins and more than 60,000 flyers for distribution to the different barangays as part of the city’s campaign against the deadly virus.
