PAGASA: LPA may cause rains over Luzon





A Low-Pressure Area (LPA) is currently being monitored by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) today , October 10, 2022.

The LPA was estimated to be located 450 km East of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan (16.9°N, 125.9°E) at 10:00 AM today. According to the weather bureau’s latest advisory, there is a possibility for the LPA to develop into a Tropical Depression. It is projected to move westward and together with the Shear Line, the LPA may bring moderate to heavy rains may be experienced over Cagayan, Batanes, and Apayao, while light to moderate with at times heavy rains will be experienced over Isabela, Kalinga, Abra, Mountain Province, and Ilocos Norte.





Another LPA was last spotted outside of the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), estimated based on all available data 1,880 km east of eastern Visayas (12.2°N, 142.7°E). However, as of the moment, it does not have any direct effect in any part of the country.

The next weather advisory will be issued at 11:00 PM today.
