PAGASA: Benguet and Abra to Experience Moderate to Heavy Rains in the Next 24 Hours





Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) warned the public of continued inclement weather in the next 24 hours.





In their latest weather advisory issued at 11 am, the weather bureau stated that the Southwest Monsoon will bring moderate to heavy rains over the following areas:

  • Abra
  • Benguet
  • Ilocos Region
  • Zambales
  • Bataan
  • Batanes
  • Babuyan Islands





Light to moderate with at times heavy rains will be experienced over the following areas:

  • Metro Manila
  • Apayao
  • Occidental Mindoro
  • Batangas
  • Cavite
  • Rizal
  • and the rest of the Cordillera Administrative Region and Central Luzon

The public is warned of the possibility 0f flash floods and rain-induced landslides during heavy or prolonged rainfall, especially in areas that are highly or very highly susceptible to these hazards as identified in hazard maps.

Tropical Depression “Gorio”

At 8:00 AM today, Tropical Depression “GORIO” developed from the Low Pressure Area over the Philippine Sea. It is located 730 km Northeast of
Itbayat, Batanes and is forecast to continue moving east northward in the next 12 hours and will turn northeastward by tomorrow. TD Gorio is is forecast to intensify into a tropical storm but is unlikely to directly affect the weather condition. Gorio may exit PAR by Thursday morning.
