Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in a weather advisory released today, June 9, 2020 that the Low Pressure Area (LPA) located at the east of Visayas may develop into a tropical depression.
According to PAGASA, at 3:00 AM today, the LPA was estimated at 465 kilometers East of Guiuan, Eastern Samar.
However, as of 10:00 AM, it has been estimated at 350 kilometers of East Southern Guiuan, Eastern Samar or 350 kilometers of Surigao City, Surigao Del Norte.
Furthermore, as of PAGASA’s weather advisory at 10:00 AM today, the agency said that in the next 48 hours, the LPA may develop into a Tropical Depression (TD)
Because of the LPA, Eastern Visayas will experience scattered light to moderate with at times heavy rainshowers in the next 24 hours.
On the other hand, PAGASA forecasts that the LPA will trigger the southwesterly wind flow over Mindanao that will bring scattered light to moderate with at time heavy rainshowers over the following areas:
The public is advised to monitor updates and advisories from PAGASA as the agency continue to monitor the said Low Pressure Area.
