Taking the Civil Service Exams this August 2023? Here’s what you need to know
The Civil Service Commission has announced the opening of application for the upcoming Career Service Examination Pen and Paper Test (CSE-PPT) for Professional and Sub-Professional on August 20, 2023. This comprehensive guide will provide you with all the information you need to know about the application process in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR).
Civil Service Exam 2023 Filing Period
The filing period for the Career Service Examination in Cordillera Administrative Region is from May 22, 2023, to June 21, 2023.
CSE-PPT Qualifications
The CSE-PPT Professional and Sub-Professional levels are open to individuals who meet the following criteria:
- Filipino citizen;
- at least 18 years old at the time of filing of application;
- have not taken the same level of the examination in less that three (3) months or within May 20, 2023 to August 19, 2023;
Applicants who meet this requirement may take the CSE-PPT regardless of educational attainment. However, this rule shall not apply to applicants who opt to take the other level of examination different from the examination level last taken.
CSE 2023 Application Process
To apply for the Career Service Examination, follow the steps below:
Step 1: Download the Application Form
Download the application form called CS Form 100 Revised Sep 2016 from the official Civil Service Commission website. You can access the form through this link: Download the application form here
Step 2: Prepare the Required Documents
Gather the following documents:
- Duly accomplished application form (CS Form 100 Revised Sep 2016).
- Original and photocopy of a valid ID with date of birth.
- In case the ID card has no date of birth, the original and photocopy of the applicant’s PSA or local civil registry birth certificate shall be submitted. How to Book PSA Online Appointment
- Check below for the list of accepted valid IDs.
- 4 passport-size ID pictures with a nametag and signature.
- Passport size (4.5 cm x 3.5 cm or 1.8 inches x 1.4 inches)
- Colored, with white background
- Taken within three (3) months prior to filing of application
- Printed on good quality photo paper (i.e. photo does not peel off)
- In standard close-up shot (from shoulder level up with the head and face occupying at least 80% of the picture and with the name tag positioned at approximately 1 inch or 2.54 cm below the chin)
- In bare face (no eyeglasses; no colored contact lens; no headdress, no bandana, or any other accessories that may cover the facial features; facial features not computer-enhanced)
- Showing left and right ears
- Taken in full-face view directly facing the camera
- With neutral facial expression, and both eyes open
- With HANDWRITTEN (not computer-generated) name tag legibly showing SIGNATURE OVER PRINTED FULL NAME which includes: Given Name, Middle Initial (if any), Last Name, and Extension Name (if any)
- Exam fee of PHP 500 for both professional and sub-professional.
- Duly accomplished certificate of consent, which can be downloaded from this link: download the Certificate of Consent here
- Original and photocopy of Identification Certificate (IC) issued by the Bureau of Immigration (only for applicants holding dual citizenship under R.A. 9225; and applicants recognized as citizens of the Philippines under Sec 1, Article IV of the 1987 Philippine Constitution)
List of accepted valid IDs
Below is the list of accepted I.D. cards for civil service exam, which is preferably valid (not expired on date of filing of application):
- Driver’s License/Temporary Driver’s License (LTO O.R. must be presented together with old Driver’s License; O.R. alone is not allowed)/Student Driver’s Permit;
- Passport;
- PRC License;
- SSS I.D.;
- GSIS I.D. (UMID);
- Voter’s I.D./Voter’s Certification;
- BIR/Taxpayer’s I.D. (ATM type/TIN card type with picture);
- PhilHealth I.D. (must have the bearer’s name, clear picture, signature and PhilHealth number);
- Company/Office I.D.;
- School I.D.;
- Police Clearance/Police Clearance Certificate (with picture);
- Postal I.D.;
- Barangay I.D.;
- NBI Clearance;
- Seaman’s Book;
- HDMF Transaction I.D.;
- PWD I.D.;
- Solo Parent I.D.;
- Senior Citizen’s I.D.; and
- CSC Eligibility Card (note: Implemented only beginning with the May 3, 2015 CSE-PPT)
Step 3: Choose the Test Center and File the Application
Application should be filed only at the CSC Provincial Field Office/Test Center where you prefer to take the examination, except for Mt. Province CSC Field Office which will accept applications for Ifugao test center.
Here are the testing centers in CAR along with the target number of applicants:
- Baguio City: 3,900 applicants
- La Trinidad, Benguet: 2,500 applicants
- Lagawe, Ifugao: 2,000 applicants
- Tabuk City, Kalinga: 2,500 applicants
- Luna, Apayao: 1,000 applicants
- Bangued, Abra: 2,000 applicants

To ensure a smooth application process, an online appointment system has been implemented. Follow the steps below to schedule your appointment:

- The link for the online appointment will be available starting May 20, 2023, at 8:00 am for the May 22 -26, 2023 appointment schedules. Do not enter the appointment portal before the specified date and time as it will not work.
- Choose the date and time slot that suits your schedule. The link will be re-opened for the remaining dates of the filing period.
Important note: Applicants with NO prior appointment will not be entertained by the application centers.
