Whole Cordillera Except Abra Will Be Placed under GCQ for the Month of May





In an address to the nation on Wednesday evening, President Rodrigo Duterte has announced the new provisional community quarantine classifications for the different areas in the Philippines.

In the Cordillera Administrative Region, Baguio City, Apayao, Benguet, Ifugao, Kalinga, and Mountain Province will be placed under General Community Quarantine (GCQ) from May 1-31, 2021. Abra will be placed under Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ).





The following are the quarantine classifications for the month of May, subject to appeals by the different Local Government Units (LGU):

  • National Capital Region + Bulacan, Rizal, Laguna, and Cavite (MECQ until May 14, 2021)
  • Region II
    • City of Santiago
    • Quirino
  • CAR
    • Abra



GCQ

  • CAR
    • Apayao
    • Benguet (including Baguio City)
    • Ifugao
    • Kalinga
    • Mountain Province
  • Region II
    • Cagayan
    • Isabela
    • Nueva Vizcaya
  • Region IV-A
    • Batangas
    • Quezon
  • Region VIII
    • Tacloban City
  • Region X
    • Iligan City
  • Region XI
    • Davao City
  • BARMM
    • Lanao del Sur



MGCQ

The rest of the Philippines with special attention to high-risk areas especially in Luzon, Region VI, and Region IX.
