Two earthquakes rock Calatagan Batangas this morning, series of aftershocks recorded

According to Phivolcs, a magnitude 6.6 earthquake happened at around 4:48 AM with its epicenter at 13.65°N, 120.54°E – 023 km S 26° W of Calatagan (Batangas). This was followed by a magnitude 5.1 aftershock at 4:57 AM with an epicenter at 13.78°N, 120.53°E – 012 km S 60° W of Calatagan (Batangas).

A series of aftershocks followed at the following times:

• 5:04 AM – Magnitude 2.7
• 5:16 AM – Magnitude 2.5
• 5:21 AM – Magnitude 2.5
• 5:23 AM – Magnitude 2.1
• 5:44 AM – Magnitude 2.0

The initial earthquake was felt with instrumental intensities recorded as far as Nueva Ecija with a recorded intensity of I and Dagupan City with recorded intensity II.
