Southwest Monsoon Brings Rains Over Northern and Central Luzon





The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), through its Regional Services Division – Northern Luzon, has issued Rainfall Advisory No. 47 as the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) continues to bring rains over parts of Luzon.

In light of the inclement weather, Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong has announced the suspension of classes from preschool to senior high school, both public and private, starting at 12 noon today.

Current Rainfall Conditions

As of 2:00 PM, light to moderate to occasionally heavy rainfall is currently being experienced in portions of Benguet, Nueva Vizcaya (Alfonso Castañeda, Dupax del Sur, Aritao, Kayapa, and Santa Fe), and parts of Ifugao. These conditions are expected to persist for the next 2 to 3 hours and may affect nearby areas.

  • Cagayan
  • Abra (Lacub, Malibcong, Tineg)
  • Kalinga
  • Rest of Benguet
  • Pangasinan (San Nicolas, Natividad, San Quintin, Umingan, Tayug, San Manuel, Santa Maria, Asingan)
  • Aurora (Dilasag, Casiguran)
  • Quirino (Maddela, Nagtipunan)
  • Nueva Vizcaya (Kasibu, Dupax del Norte, Bambang)
  • Rest of Ifugao
  • Mountain Province
  • Portions of Ilocos Sur and Apayao





Public Advisory

PAGASA urges the public and Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices (DRRMOs) to monitor weather updates and take appropriate precautionary measures. Residents in mountainous and low-lying areas are advised to stay alert for possible landslides, mudslides, rockslides, and flash floods.
