PH To Lift Community Quarantine in Low-Risk COVID-19 Areas after May 15, 2020


Presidential Spokesperson Secretary Harry Roque, Jr. presented updates in a press briefing today, regarding the community quarantine status of provinces around the country after May 15, 2020. He said that IATF Resolution No. 35 was approved yesterday, transitioning some areas in the country to be classified as green or low-risk areas which means they will no longer be under community quarantine starting May 16, 2020.

On the other hand, some areas will be placed under Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) while others will transition to General Community Quarantine (GCQ).


Low-risk Provinces, HUCs, and ICCs No Longer Under Community Quarantine

Here are the following provinces, highly-urbanized cities (HUCs), and independent component cities (ICCs) categorized as low-risk areas which will no longer be placed under community quarantine after May 15, 2020.

Appeal for Re-classification

Under the  IATF Resolution No. 35, Provinces, HUCs, and ICCs characterized as low, moderate, and high-risk may appeal their classification to the IATF Screening and Validation Committee with the concurrence of the Regional Interagency Task Force (RIATF )not later than May 13, 2020.
