Manila Policeman a New COVID-19 Case in Baguio

There is a new confirmed COVID-19 case here in Baguio City today, May 12, 2020.

The new case is a Forty-one-year-old policeman from Camp Crame and resident of Dontogan Barangay, according to the Public Information Office – City of Baguio (PIO-Baguio).

Latest Case Agreed to be Identified

The latest case is identified as Major Rafael Baldado Roxas, deputy chief of the Fingerprint Division National Headquarters of the Philippine National Police Crime Laboratory. And according to Baguio Mayor Benjie Magalong, he agreed to be identified.

Major Roxas tested positive with COVID-19 after undergoing a swab test here in Baguio.

Roxas is confined at a health facility in the city as well.

Contact Tracing on Major Roxas’ Case

The patient’s family and contacts, on the other hand, are now on isolation. His case, according to PIO-Baguio, cannot be considered as a local transmission because apparently, he contracted the virus in Manila.
