117K Doses of Pfizer Vaccine to Arrive in PH by April, Says Secretary Dizon

National Task Force Against COVID-19 Deputy Chief Implementer Secretary Vince Dizon, during a Laging Handa public briefing held on Wednesday, March 10, 2021, has announced that 117,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine from Pfizer-BioNTech will arrive in the Philippines this coming April.

During the said public briefing, Undersecretary Rocky Ignacio from the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) asked Secretary Dizon for an update about the Pfizer vaccine. Undersecretary Ignacio asked.

That’s when Secretary Dizon has revealed the news, saying that the World Health Organization (WHO) has already committed that the 117,000 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine will arrive next month.

Dizon added that the arrival of Pfizer in April will still reach the vaccination program for healthcare workers. “Kung darating po ito ng Abril, base sa pangako ng WHO, aabot po ito para sa ating mga healthcare workers,” he said.

According to Dizon, 3.4 million doses are needed to complete the vaccination of health workers in the country.
