PAGASA: LPA east of Extreme Northern Luzon developed into Tropical Depression #LuisPH






The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported through their latest Tropical Cyclone Advisory issued at 8:00 AM today that the Low Pressure Area (LPA) located east of extreme Northern Luzon has developed into a tropical depression.





At 4:00 AM today, the LPA was located 1,240 km east of extreme Northern Luzon (19.8°N, 133.8°E). According to the weather bureau, it became a Tropical Depression at 8:00 in the morning and will be assigned the domestic name “Luis.”

In the next 24 hours, the TD Luis in not expected to directly affect any part of the country. However, light to moderate with at times heavy rains over Palawan and Occidental Mindoro may be experienced due to the Southwest Monsoon.




PAGASA will start issuing Tropical Cyclone Bulletins starting at 11:00 today.
