The first “monolith” that has appeared this year, the one found in Utah, might have sparked discussions involving aliens or extraterrestrial lifeforms; but as more structures somehow identical to this mysterious object appeared, including the Monolith in Romania and the Monolith in California, the supposed-to-be mysterious object began to be treated as a joke.
Creative memes and witty promotional materials riding its fame, and several news and theories can be observed popping out from different social media platforms, but just when some have probably thought that the third “monolith” will be the last one we’ll see in the headlines, another one has been reportedly been spotted on the Isle of Wight, an island off the south coast of England.
According to Sky News, the “monolith” in the Isle of Wight which was dubbed as the “fourth (4th) monolith” was described as a mysterious mirrored object which was “really reflective”.
Tom Dunford, a witness who has reportedly seen the “monolith” first hand told the outlet, “We went down the steps and to the right about 100 yards in front us we saw this big reflection of the sun… I knew about all the monolith stories recently, so I recognized it straight away.”
Who is responsible for the installation of this “monolith”? Well, just like the other “monoliths” that have appeared, it is still a mystery.
