Warner Bros. to Stream Its 2021 Movies



Last week, December 3, 2020, Warner Bros. Pictures Group made an announcement that its 2021 slate of films will be exclusively streamed on HBO Max and concurrently the films will be played in theaters.

According to Warner Bros., following the one-month HBO Max access period domestically, each film will leave the platform and continue theatrically in the U.S. and international territories.

“On December 3, 2020, Warner Bros. Pictures Group announced that it has committed to releasing its 2021 film slate via a unique, consumer-focused distribution model in which Warner Bros. will continue to exhibit the films theatrically worldwide while adding an exclusive one-month access period on the HBO Max streaming platform in the U.S. concurrent with the film’s domestic release.”

According to the Chairman of Warner Bros. Pictures Group Toby Emmerich, he stated that the Warner Bros.’ hybrid exhibition model will enable them to best support their films, creative partners and moviegoing in general throughout 2021.

Also, Ann Sarnoff, the Chair and CEO, WarnerMedia Studios and Networks Group, of which Warner Bros. is part, said in a statement that “We’re living in unprecedented times which call for creative solutions, including this new initiative for the Warner Bros. Pictures Group. No one wants films back on the big screen more than we do.”

CEO of WarnerMedia Jason Kilar also said that “After considering all available options and the projected state of moviegoing throughout 2021, we came to the conclusion that this was the best way for WarnerMedia’s motion picture business to navigate the next 12 months.”

3. “Tom & Jerry”

4. “Godzilla vs. Kong”

5. “Mortal Kombat”

6. “Those Who Wish Me Dead”

7. “The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It”

8. “In The Heights”

9. “Space Jam: A New Legacy”

10. “The Suicide Squad”

11. “Reminiscence”

12. “Malignant”

13. “Dune”

14. “The Many Saints of Newark”

15. “King Richard”

16. “Cry Macho”

17. “Matrix 4”

Furthermore, according to Warner Bros., the films and release dates subject to change.
