The Joint Inter-Agency Task Force Kennon has announced that Kennon Road has been temporarily closed. This is due to rockfall incidents in the area. In order to ensure the safety of motorists, the RDRRMC Joint Inter-Agency Task Force Kennon will be conducting a rapid safety assessment.

Cause of the Rockfalls

Baguio City and Benguet province have been experiencing rains, especially in the afternoon. This is due to the northeasterly surface wind flow. This weather system brings isolated rain showers or localized thunderstorms.

Because of the rockfalls, Kennon road has been temporarily closed until further notice effective immediately.

Motorists can take alternate routes to Baguio through Ben-Palispis (Marcos) highway or Naguilian Road.
