By Visita Iglesia 2022: Holy Week Live Mass Schedule of Churches in Baguio City
The Holy Week is a sacred time as we commemorate the passion, death, and the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Among the things to follow during the season of Lent, is the Seven Churches Visitation of commonly known as the Visita Iglesia in the Philippines. This Catholic tradition dates back to ancient times and this event starts on the evening of Maundy Thursday. Filipinos are strict observers of this tradition and some visitors go to the City of Pines during this time of the year for their Holy Week excursion.
However, since community quarantine has been imposed in the country, religious gatherings have been limited because of the threat of the virus. That is why some churches have brought to the internet their mass so people at home can still hear the Word of God from the safety of their homes.
Here are some of the Baguio City churches and their holy week schedules which you can include in your Visita Iglesia itinerary. To be safer from the virus, you can also visit some of the churches’ social media pages for their live coverage of masses for each day of the holy week.
Baguio Cathedral – Our Lady of the Atonement
