Free Anti-Rabies Vaccination in Baguio Scheduled for November 3–6, 2026

The City Veterinary and Agriculture Office (CVAO) of Baguio City has announced another round of free anti-rabies vaccinations for dogs and cats from November 3 to 6, 2026, in selected barangays across the city.

The vaccination activities will be conducted from 8:30 AM to 12:00 noon, giving pet owners an opportunity to protect their animals against rabies.

Rabies is a viral disease that affects the nervous system and can be transmitted to humans through bites or saliva exposure from infected animals. The disease is almost always fatal once symptoms appear, making vaccination an important preventive measure.

Important Reminders for Pet Owners

The CVAO has issued several reminders for residents planning to avail themselves of the free vaccination services.

1. Age and Health Requirements

Dogs and cats younger than three months old, pregnant animals, and sick animals will not be vaccinated during the activity.

2. Mandatory Dog Registration

Under City Ordinance No. 19-2021, all dogs aged three months and older must be registered with their respective barangay or the City Veterinary and Agriculture Office.

3. Dog Registration Fee

A registration fee of ₱50 per dog will be collected from dog owners. The anti-rabies vaccination itself is free.

Why Pet Vaccination Matters

Rabies remains a serious public health concern in the Philippines. Although the disease is preventable through vaccination, infected animals can transmit the virus to humans, particularly through bites.

Regular vaccination of dogs and cats helps reduce the risk of rabies transmission and protects both pets and the people around them.

Pet owners are encouraged to take advantage of the scheduled vaccination activities and ensure their animals receive the necessary protection.

Residents may coordinate with their barangay officials or the City Veterinary and Agriculture Office for additional information about the vaccination program.
