Intensified Monsoon Rains Cause Landslides and Flooding in Benguet

Due to the torrential rains brought about by the Southwest monsoon this week, several roads in Benguet have been closed or limited to traffic due to landslides and flooding.

As of 2:50 PM today, a heavy rainfall warning has been issued in Benguet (Baguio, La Trinidad, Itogon,Tublay, Kapangan, Bokod, Atok, Kabayan) and parts of La Union (Caba, Aringay, Tubao, Agoo, Pugo, Santo Tomas) by PAGASA. The public must prepare for possible flooding, landslides, mudslides, rockslides, or flashflood in flood/landslide-prone areas.

According to the Department of Public Works and Highways – Cordillera Administrative Region, here are the conditions of the major roads in Baguio City and Benguet as of 3:30 PM:
