Entire Cordillera to be under General Community Quarantine from April 1-30, 2021




In the latest announcement made by President Rodrigo Duterte, as recommended by the IATF, the entire Cordillera region will be under the general community quarantine classification from April 1-30, 2021.

Aside from the Cordillera region, several other provinces were placed under the General Community Quarantine classification from April 1-30, 2021.

Provinces Under GCQ from April 1-30, 2021

  • Entire Cordillera Region
  • Region 2 : Cagayan, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya
  • Region 4-A : Batangas
  • Region 8 : Tacloban City
  • Region 10 : Iligan City
  • Region 11 : Davao City
  • BARMM : Lanao Del Sur

Aside from GCQ, there are provinces that were placed under Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine. These are the following:

  • Quirino Province (From April 1-15,2021) – for de-escalation to GCQ of Regional IAFT should the situation improve after the said period.
  • The city of Santiago, Isabela (from April 1-30, 2021)

Enhanced Community Quarantine in NCR+

The enhanced community quarantine that is currently in effect in the National Capital Region and the provinces of Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal, will remain in effect until April 4, 2021, and would be subjected to further review.

Other areas in the Philippines not mentioned will be under Modified General Community Quarantine.

Case Update

The Department of Health has recorded a total of 10,016 cases on March 29, 2021. In the Cordillera region, DOH-CAR recorded a total of two hundred seven (207) new cases (16 are still for verification), five hundred twenty recoveries (520), and four (4) fatalities.



The breakdown of the cases, fatalities, and recoveries are as follows:

Cases in the Cordillera Region (DOH-CAR Data)

  • 28 in Abra (1 died)
  • 11 in Apayao
  • 59 in Baguio City (3 for verification)
  • 33 in Benguet (7 for verification, 1 died)
  • 25 in Ifugao (5 for verification
  •  4 in Kalinga
  •  47 in Mt. Province (1 for verification)

Cases in Baguio and Benguet as announced by their respective PIO

  • 53 new cases in Baguio
  • 39 new cases in Benguet




Recoveries in the Cordillera Region

  • 8 in Abra
  • 15 in Apayao
  • 203 in Baguio City
  • 112 in Benguet
  • 27 in Ifugao
  • 40 in Kalinga
  • 115 in Mt. Province

Fatalities recorded in the Cordillera Region

  • 1 in Abra
  • 3 in Benguet

Note that the numbers may change since there are still some cases that are for verification, according to DOH-CAR.
