Easy-to-Make Desserts for Special Occasions






As the holiday season rolls in, you know that preparing some food for the occasions should be on top of your list. Whether you’re hosting a party or required to bring something for potluck, you know you need to have an idea or two at the very least to get you started on the preparation phase of what you want or need to bring. No-Bake Cookies

These are the perfect desserts if you don’t have an oven to whip everything up but you have your trusty fridge to bind the ingredients together. For these types of recipes, oatmeals are usually one of the main components you’ll need. You may also add in some ingredients that you usually find in cookies, such as semi-sweet chocolate chips, berries, nuts, and white chocolate chips.

Dump Cakes

As the name implies, dump cakes are basically a mixture of ingredients that you dump in a cake pan. The ingredients need to have a sort of emulsifier so they will solidify into a large bulk that you can eventually slice. You may even use leftover cake bars and fruit salads or syrups as some of the main components for this dessert. Just top everything all up with your presentation skills to up your game.

Frozen Fruits and Yogurt

The combination is perfect for people who need to watch what they eat but still want to enjoy some sweets. This dessert can be as straightforward as it gets. Grab your favorite yogurt, get some frozen fruits, mix them up together on a tray, and place the mixture in the freezer for a few hours. You may slice them up or break them up like chocolate barks prior to serving.

Cake Pops

This is another dessert you can easily whip up from leftover cakes. Make some buttercream icing (don’t worry, it’s super easy to create), crush the leftover cakes to bits, shape the combination into balls, and place a stick on each ball. Dip these balls in melted chocolate, place some sprinkles on them, and chill in the fridge for a couple of hours.

Ice Cream Cakes

If you’re just looking for the basic version, you only need around two ingredients to get started–cream and condensed milk. You may also add your fruit, nut, or other ingredients of your choice. Modify the recipe as you see fit for the crowd you’ll be serving or customize it according to your preferences if you’re to consume it by yourself.




Chocolate-Dipped Cookies

Turn any type of cookie into a crowd pleaser with this simple hack. Get some melted chocolate and dip the cookies halfway through. Add some crushed nuts, sprinkles, or leave them as is. Place the cookies on a tray with parchment paper and let the chocolate set for a few minutes before serving.

Peanut Butter Cups

You only need two ingredients for this dessert: peanut butter and melted chocolate. Mix the ingredients together, place on tiny cupcake liners, and let the mixture set in the fridge for a few hours. You may also add some toppings of your choice before you place the cups in the refrigerator.

Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich

The recipe is similar to the ice cream cake recipe, except for the cookies that you’ll use as the “bread” of the sandwich. In this case, the ice cream is the spread. Just create the ice cream cake as per usual and assemble with the two cookies to create the sandwich. Freeze the sandwich for a few hours to allow it to set and take it out just before serving.

Tiramisu

One of the classic desserts to create for special occasions, tiramisu is a great food to serve for coffee lovers. Just make sure to balance out the sweet and bitter flavors so as not to overwhelm those who will have this for dessert. There are a lot of easy recipes online to choose, so you don’t even have to worry where to start.

Classic Chocolate Cake

You can never go wrong with this one. If you still have some time to prepare, try to develop your version of the classic chocolate cake and use this as a base for other types of chocolate cakes that you may also create in the future. Use crushed chocolate bars, marshmallows, crushed nuts, and other types of toppings you may think of to further improve this dessert. You may also experiment with some frosting, such as chocolate ganache, cream cheese, and basically anything else you can think of. Once you get the hang of this dessert, you open yourself to a lot of other possibilities when it comes to sweets.




Mug Cakes

In itself, this dessert isn’t that spectacular when prepared and served as is. This is where your creativity enters the picture. Serve the cakes in extra fancy cups, prepare some extra ingredients for customizable. Go wild with your ideas and ask for suggestions from your guests as well if possible. In this way, you can make a seemingly ordinary and boring dessert into something memorable that they may remember even a few months or years after you served the dessert to them.

Chocolate-Dipped Strawberries

If you want something healthy yet a bit sinful and oh-so-easy to prepare dessert that can complement a lot of other foods, you may consider this one as one of your top choices. The common version is strawberries dipped in milk chocolate, but it doesn’t mean you need to limit yourself to that alone. You may also use dark chocolate or white chocolate. Play with food coloring, mix with white chocolate, and try some other color themes in case your party has one.

Crepe Cakes

This dessert is easy in the sense that there are no strict rules when it comes to the way you prepare this dish, as long as you can assemble the cake to your preference. Just prepare some cream for your layers and frosting and some fruits and some fruits that you like before you proceed in assembling the dessert. If you have a crepe maker at home? You can make this dessert in a breeze and just in time for the meal.




Boxed Cake Mix Bars

If you don’t have any other choice and you’re pressed for time, there is no shame in going for the boxed cake mixes. Prepare the cake in the rectangular trays and bake as per package instructions. After that, slice up the cake into small bars and use your creativity to get started with how you would like to design each bar before serving. If you have time, you may even consider adding filling inside each bar for that subtle element of surprise for your guests.
