Civil Service Exam 2023 Schedule and Requirements






The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has announced the schedule for this year’s Career Service Examination or Civil Service Exam 2023- Pen and Paper Test (CSE-PPT) Professional and Subprofessional. Below are the things you need to know if you are interested in taking the examination.




Civil Service Exam 2023 Schedule

As per CSC-CAR’s announcement, the CSE Professional and Subprofessional- Pen and Paper Test will be held on March 26, 2023.

Applicants must communicate/coordinate with the CSC Regional Office (CSC RO), or with any of the CSC RO’s Field Offices, where they intend to take the examination regarding the Testing Centers. A directory of CSC Regional and Field Offices in CAR is available below.

Civil Service Exam Testing Venues in CAR

As of December 12, 2022, CSE-PPT will be held at the following testing centers:

  • Baguio City
  • La Trinidad, Benguet
  • Bontoc, Mt. Province
  • Tabuk City, Kalinga
  • Bangued, Abra





CSE-PPT Application Period

Interested exam takers may submit their applications from December 22, 2022, to January 25, 2023. Applicants are advised to book an appointment first before proceeding to any of the CSC Field Offices to file an application for CSE PPT. Applicants with no prior on-line appointment shall not be entertained.

Reminders:

  • The CSC Regional and Field Offices shall strictly implement its online appointment system. Applicants who appear at the CSC Field Offices without booking an appointment shall not be entertained.
  • Further, the CSC CAR may stop accepting applications before the deadline for filing if it has already reached its target number of applications.

Civil Service Exam 2023 Qualifications

All applicants must strictly meet the following qualification requirements:

  1. Filipino citizen;
  2. At least 18 years old on the date of filing of application;
  3. Of good moral character;
  4. Has not been convicted by final judgment of an offense or crime involving moral turpitude, or disgraceful or immoral conduct, dishonesty, examination irregularity, drunkenness, or addiction to drugs;
  5. Has not been dishonorably discharged from military service, or dismissed for cause from any civilian position in the government; and
  6. Has not taken the same level of Career Service Examination, either through PPT or CSC Computerized Examination (CSC COMEX), within three months before the date of examination.





Civil Service Exam 2023 Requirements

  1. Fully accomplished Application Form (appropriate CS Form No. 100). Application form may be printed/reproduced using legal size bond paper. Download the application form here.
  2. Duly accomplished Certificate of Consent. Download form here.
  3. Four (4) pieces of identical I.D. pictures with specifications, as follows:
    1. Passport size (4.5 cm x 3.5 cm or 1.8 inches x 1.4 inches)
    2. Colored, with white background
    3. Taken within three (3) months prior to filing of application
    4. Printed on good quality photo paper (i.e. photo does not peel off)
    5. In standard close-up shot (from shoulder level up with the head and face occupying at least 80% of the picture and with the name tag positioned at approximately 1 inch or 2.54 cm below the chin)
    6. In bare face (no eyeglasses; no colored contact lens; no headdress, no bandana, or any other accessories that may cover the facial features; facial features not computer-enhanced)
    7. Showing left and right ears
    8. Taken in full-face view directly facing the camera
    9. With neutral facial expression, and both eyes open
    10. With HANDWRITTEN (not computer-generated) name tag legibly showing SIGNATURE OVER PRINTED FULL NAME which includes: Given Name, Middle Initial (if any), Last Name, and Extension Name (if any)Civil Service Exam 2022






     

  4. Original and photocopy of any of the following list of accepted I.D. cards for civil service exam, which is preferably valid (not expired on date of filing of application):
    1. Driver’s License/Temporary Driver’s License (LTO O.R. must be presented together with old Driver’s License; O.R. alone is not allowed)/Student Driver’s Permit;
    2. Passport;
    3. PRC License;
    4. SSS I.D.;
    5. GSIS I.D. (UMID);
    6. Voter’s I.D./Voter’s Certification;
    7. BIR/Taxpayer’s I.D. (ATM type/TIN card type with picture);
    8. PhilHealth I.D. (must have the bearer’s name, clear picture, signature and PhilHealth number);
    9. Company/Office I.D.;
    10. School I.D.;
    11. Police Clearance/Police Clearance Certificate (with picture);
    12. Postal I.D.;
    13. Barangay I.D.;
    14. NBI Clearance;
    15. Seaman’s Book;
    16. HDMF Transaction I.D.;
    17. PWD I.D.;
    18. Solo Parent I.D.;
    19. Senior Citizen’s I.D.; and
    20. CSC Eligibility Card (note: Implemented only beginning with the May 3, 2015 CSE-PPT)
  5. Original and Photocopy of Vaccination Card (if applicable)
  6. Examination fee of Five Hundred Pesos (Php 500.00)





Other/Additional Requirements, as applicable

  1. Original and photocopy of Vaccination Card (only if applicable)
    Note: The Vaccination Card as an additional documentary requirement mainly serves the purpose of segregating fully vaccinated from partially vaccinated and unvaccinated applicants. Accordingly, it is clarified that full vaccination is NOT a qualification requirement to apply for and take the exam, meaning, the partially vaccinated and the unvaccinated can also apply for and take the exam but subject to presentation of a “negative” RT-PCR/Antigen test result on exam day.
  2. Original and photocopy of Birth Certificate issued by the Philippine Statistics Authority, or the Local Civil Registry (only for applicants without date of birth in their I.D. card/s)

  3. Original and photocopy of Identification Certificate (IC) issued by the Bureau of Immigration (only for applicants holding dual citizenship under R.A. 9225; and applicants recognized as citizens of the Philippines under Sec 1, Article IV of the 1987 Philippine Constitution)
