Vaccination of Health Frontliners Done by May, Says Spokesperson Roque
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, citing National Task Force (NTF) Against Covid-19 chief implementer and vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. during a press briefing held yesterday (Monday), March 8, 2021, revealed that the vaccination of frontline healthcare workers will be completed by May.
When asked by media about when the vaccination of the communities will begin (“when do we begin vaccinating iyong communities natin”), that was when Spokesperson Roque made mention that by the month of May the vaccination for health frontliners completed.
“I’m restating what Secretary Galvez said: Matatapos natin ang health frontliners by May and we can begin with the economic frontliners by April. And I think the reason is obvious, kasi nga iyong Sinovac kung hindi tatanggapin ng medical frontliners, magkakaroon tayo ng sobra. And since we cannot give it to the senior citizens, then we can give it to the economic frontliners.”

Nearly 30K Frontline Medical Workers Vaccinated
According to Roque, as of Sunday, March 7, 2021, nearly 30,000 frontline medical workers have already been vaccinated against COVID-19.
“Mayroon na tayong halos 30,000 or 29,266 na medical frontliners na nabakunahan. Ang total accumulative vaccinated natin ay 29,266; ang total vaccines deployed ay 383,960 – ito po ay 329,480 na Sinovac at 54,500 na AstraZeneca,” he said.
Furthermore, Roque also stated, “So iyong first dose deployment po ng Sinovac, tapos na po. Na-deploy na po lahat iyong first dose ng Sinovac.”
