Sarah Genese Cabilangan from Saint Louis University Secures 7th Spot in Mining Engineers Licensure Examination






The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) has proudly released the results of the Mining Engineers Licensure Examination that took place this August. Out of the 351 candidates who took the examination in multiple cities – including N.C.R., Baguio, Butuan, Cebu, Davao, and Legazpi – 242 were successful, revealing a passing rate of roughly 68.94%.

A significant highlight of these results is the outstanding performance of Sarah Genese Cabilangan, a proud graduate of Saint Louis University. Sarah achieved the 7th position among the top 10 examinees with an impressive rating of 85.35%. This achievement not only celebrates her dedication and hard work but also highlights the standard of education and training at Saint Louis University.

The licensure examination was diligently overseen by the Board of Mining Engineering. The members responsible for this commendable task were Hon. Ramon N. Santos, acting as the Chairman, and members Hon. Rufino B. Bomasang and Hon. Augusto C. Villaluna.

For all successful examinees, the next step is the registration for the issuance of the Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration. This process will commence online from October 23 to October 25, 2023. All candidates are encouraged to visit www.prc.gov.ph for detailed instructions on initial registration.




Upon registration, candidates must remember to carry the following essential documents:

  • A downloaded, duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal.
  • Their notice of admission (primarily for identification).
  • Two passport-sized photos (colored, with a white background and complete name tag).
  • Two sets of documentary stamps.
  • One short brown envelope.

It is imperative for all successful examinees to register personally and make their mark in the Roster of Registered Professionals.

While the joy of success is in the air, the PRC has also indicated that the oathtaking ceremony for this batch of successful examinees, as well as for those from previous batches who have not yet taken their Oath of Professional, will be scheduled and announced at a later date.
