9 Road Lines in Cordillera Closed as of August 9, 2026 at 9:00AM
Excerpt: Nine road lines across Abra, Benguet, and Mountain Province have sections closed due to landslides, soil collapse, mudflow, rockfall, road cuts, and other safety concerns as of the morning of August 9, 2026.
Several road sections across the Cordillera Administrative Region remain closed due to landslides, soil collapse, mudflow, rockfall, road cuts, and other safety concerns.
According to the Department of Public Works and Highways-Cordillera Administrative Region (DPWH-CAR), a total of nine road lines have closures as of 9:00 AM on August 9, 2026.
Motorists are advised to avoid the affected sections and use available alternate routes where applicable.
Road Closures in Abra
Abra-Kalinga Road
Two sections of the Abra-Kalinga Road are closed:
- Poblacion, Malibcong due to soil collapse and mudflow
- Gacab, Malibcong due to soil collapse and rockfall
Road Closures in Benguet
Kennon Road
Kennon Road is closed due to soil collapse and rockfall.
Alternate routes include:
- Marcos Highway
- Baguio-Bauang Road, also known as Naguilian Road
- Asin-Nangalisan-San Pascual-La Union Boundary Road
Benguet-Nueva Vizcaya Road
A section of the Benguet-Nueva Vizcaya Road in Beckel, La Trinidad is closed due to a road cut.
Alternate routes include:
- Marlboro-Beckel Road
- Labey-Lacamen Road
Baguio-Itogon Road
A section of the Baguio-Itogon Road at Sitio Goldfield, Poblacion, Itogon is closed due to mudflow.
Motorists may use Ucab-Midas Road as an alternate route.
Tawang-Ambiong Road
Tawang-Ambiong Road, which was recently opened, has been closed again for safety purposes.
Congressman Andres Acop Cosalan Road
Two sections of the road are closed:
- Gusaran, Kabayan due to soil collapse and mudflow
- Bogao, Bila, Bokod due to a landslide
Baguio-Bontoc Road
A section of the Baguio-Bontoc Road in Paoay, Atok is closed due to soil collapse.
Abatan-Mankayan-Cervantes Road
A section of the Abatan-Mankayan-Cervantes Road in Tabio, Mankayan is closed due to soil collapse.
Road Closure in Mountain Province
Sagada-Besao-Quirino via Laylaya Road
A section of the Sagada-Besao-Quirino via Laylaya Road in Banguitan, Besao is closed due to slope collapse.
Motorists Advised to Use Alternate Routes
Motorists traveling within the Cordillera are advised to avoid closed road sections, use the designated alternate routes where available, and follow road advisories and instructions from authorities on the ground.
Road conditions may change depending on weather and clearing operations.
