What is the PMA Entrance Exam 2023?

The PMA Entrance Exam 2023 is a comprehensive test that determines whether or not you have the academic and physical qualifications to become a cadet in the Philippine Military Academy.

If you aspire to pursue a career in the military, joining the academy can be an excellent first step. The PMA Cadet Online Application System will be open from May 1, 2023 to August 1, 2023. 

When is the PMA Entrance Exam 2023?

The PMA Entrance Exam 2023 dates have not been announced yet. This post will be updated once an update is available.

Who can take the PMA Entrance Exam 2023?

The PMA Entrance Exam 2023 is open to Filipino citizens who meet the following qualifications:

  • Natural-born Filipino Citizen;
  • At least 17 years and not more than 22 years old on 01 June of the admission year;
  • At least Senior High School Graduate (Grade 12);
  • Must have at least a GPA/GWA of 85% or its equivalent;
  • Barefoot Height requirement for both Male and Female is 5 feet (not to exceed 6’4″ for both);




  • Physically fit and of good moral character.
  • Single and has never been married.
  • No Administrative / Criminal Case.
  • Must pass the PMA Entrance Examination 2022.
  • Physically and mentally fit for military training
  • Must pass the complete Physical-Medical Examination by AFP Medical Board Nr 1;
  • Must pass the Physical Fitness Test and Aptitude for the Service Interview

Medical Disqualifications

  • Color Blind
    • There are three main kinds of color blindness, based on photopigment defects in the three different kinds of cones that respond to blue, green, and red light. Red-green color blindness is the most common, followed by blue-yellow color blindness. A complete absence of color vision —total color blindness – is rare.
  • Any Communicable Disease
    • Tuberculosis
    • Leprosy
    • Mumps
    • HIV/AIDS
    • Influenza
    • Malaria and more
  • Physical Deformities
    • Incomplete limbs
    • Down Syndrome
    • Blindness
    • Deaf/Mute and more.
  • Scoliosis
    • Scoliosis is a medical condition in which a person’s spine has a sideways curve. The curve is usually “S”- or “C”-shaped. In some, the degree of curve is stable, while in others, it increases over time. Mild scoliosis does not typically cause problems, while severe cases can interfere with breathing.





  • Tattoos
    • A tattoo is a form of body modification where a design is made by inserting ink, dyes, and pigments, either indelible or temporary, into the dermis layer of the skin.
  • Other Medical Conditions as determined by AFP Medical Board Nr 1

Requirements for PMA Entrance Exam 2023 Online Application

Before proceeding to the online application, make sure you have the following:

  • Computer or smartphone/mobile device with internet access
  • Valid and working email account
  • Scanned copy of the following in  PDF or  JPEG format:
    • PSA birth certificate
    • Form 137/138 or Transcript of Record
      • Note: all pages of the document should be in ONE (1) document file format
      • Scanned documents are required and will be uploaded in the PMA Online Cadet Application System





How to apply for the PMA Entrance Exam 2023?

To apply for the PMA Entrance Exam 2023, interested applicants must take the following steps:

  1. Access Cadet Application System by going to admission.pma.edu.ph.
  2. Click “Not Registered yet? Sign-up instead”
  3. Fill out and accomplish Sign up section
  4. Verify your information and click “Sign-up”. Take note of your email and password which you will use for your sign in.
  5. After doing so, the system will send you a verification code to the email you provided. Copy and paste it into the box with the label “Verification Code” to complete your application.
    After submitting the verification code, you will be automatically logged in to the system. Click Personal Information Tab
  6. Accomplish and fill out the form with your correct personal information.
    • Note: Data fields with “*” are required to be filled.
    • Incorrect information may invalidate your application.
    • Your preferred exam site/center can be changed anytime before closing of the online application. Further, exam sites/centers are not yet final.




  7. Make sure you have entered all the necessary information. Once you are sure you have entered the correct data,  Click Save Information.
  8. After saving your personal information, new tabs will appear below the Personal Information tab. Click the “Educational Background” tab
  9. Click Add Educational Background
  10. Fill up the fields with your corresponding educational background. All applicants need to add AT LEAST their HIGH SCHOOL credentials. College level applicants may add their credentials as applicable.
  11. Once all required data fields and other fields are accomplished, click “Save.”
  12. Click the “Requirements” tab and upload the scanned documents required for application. Click “Choose File,” and navigate to the folder where the scanned file is located.
    • Upload one (1) file for each requirement. All scanned pages must be in one file.
    • Once you have uploaded all the documents, Click “Save.”
  13. Click the “Survey” tab and answer the questions by selecting from the options. Click “Save Changes” once done and you will be directed to the Notifications Page. Here, you will see the progress of your application.
  14. You can now sign out of your account.

Notes:

  • Applicants can sign in to their accounts to update their personal information and requirements during the prescribed period of online application.
  • Click the Notification bell to access notification page and monitor the status of your application.
  • Once your application has been approved, you will receive a notification in your account that you can download your EXAM PERMIT. If you are disapproved, you will likewise receive a note stating the reason why you got disqualified.
  • Access to downloading exam permits via online applicant accounts will be announced at a later time.

Exam Format and Coverage

The PMA Entrance Exam 2023 consists of multiple-choice questions covering different areas: Algebra and Geometry, Grammar and Composition, Reading and Comprehension, Verbal and Numerical Reasoning, and Pattern Analysis. The exam also includes a physical fitness test that assesses an applicant’s physical agility, endurance, and strength.
