PH OKs booster shots for health workers starting November 17

The Department of Health (DOH) has announced on Tuesday that the administration of COVID-19 booster shots for fully-vaccinated health care workers (A1 priority group) will start on November 17.

According to the advisory, DOH recommends the FDA’s Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) on the use of Moderna, Pfizer, and Sinovac as booster doses regardless of the brand used for the primary dose.

Those that had Sinovac as primary series will also be offered as a booster dose.

Further guidelines for implementation will be released by the National Vaccine Operations Center (NVOC) today.
