Baguio City LGU released advisory on the use of Face Shield

Just yesterday, President Rodrigo Duterte approved the IATF resolution on the protocols in the use of face shields. Today, the Local Government Unit of Baguio released an advisory regarding the use of face shields in the city.

According to the advisory, the use of face shields may now be voluntary only in open spaces and low-risk spaces. The advisory further states that face shields are still strongly encouraged in high-risk enclosed environments, clinics, and other health facilities.

The City of Baguio will also shift its focus and monitoring on the use of face masks pending the amendments by the City Council of Baguio for Ordinance no.49 s. 2021.

Expect the revision of the advisory, subject to the amendments to be introduced by LGU Baguio or the IATF-EID.

The advisory however did not identify specific examples of “high-risk” enclosed environments nor have they identified high-risk open spaces if such warrants the use of face shields.
