PAGASA: LPA to bring rains in Luzon and parts of Visayas

A Low-Pressure Area (LPA) is currently being monitored by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) today, January 5, 2023.

According to the weather advisory issued at 11:00 AM today, the LPA was estimated to be located 185 km west northwest of Coron, Palawan or 265 km west of San Jose, Occidental Mindoro. While it is less likely to develop into a tropical depression, PAGASA says it will bring rains to various parts of the country, especially Luzon and parts of Visayas.

In the next 24 hours, the LPA and the northeast monsoon will bring moderate to heavy with at times intense rains over Bicol Region, Quezon, and Aurora. Light to moderate with at times heavy rains will be experienced over Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, Visayas, MIMAROPA, the rest of Central Luzon, and CALABARZON.
