Mayor Magalong Orders Lockdown of 4 Barangays

In light of the new positive COVID-19 case in Baguio that ended the 13 day zero cases in the city, the Mayor has now ordered the lockdown of the following barangays, Lower Dagsian, Upper Dagsian, Hillside, and Scout Barrio. These barangays are known to have been frequented by a resident who was found to be positive for COVID-19.

The lockdown of these barangays means that only essential travels are allowed. As of today, an aggressive contact tracing is now being implemented to identify the people that the patient was in contact with. According to initial findings, the patient came in contact with some police personnel, such personnel is now under isolation, according to Baguio City Police Director Allan Rae Co.

To further curb the spread of the disease, the Mayor also ordered the immediate disinfection of the patients’ residence, the police station she visited as well as other areas that the patient has been to. Furthermore, the concerned barangay officials of Upper Dagsian were directed to undergo quarantine.

This new case of COVID-19 in Baguio City has brought the total number of positive COVID-19 patients to 15.
