The decision came after the observation that there was a decrease in the number of new cases in the concerned municipalities and are identified to be at minimal to moderate risk level.

As per Executive Order No. 14, series of 2021, the following municipalities in La Union will be placed under General Community Quarantine (GCQ) from Thursday, April 22, 2021, to Wednesday, May 5, 2021:

  • Agoo
  • Aringay
  • Naguilian
  • Tubao

unless sooner revoked or extended, with the concurrence of the Regional IATF, and all guidelines, protocols, rules, and regulations in the implementation shall be revived.

On the other hand, the MECQ status of Luna, La Union will be extended until April 30, 2021. According to EO No. 15-2021, while there was a decrease in the transmission of the virus, the Municipal Mayor requested for an extension for the implementation of the status. This is to allow sufficient time for the completion of necessary interventions and prevent the spread of the virus.
