  1. Sad thing is they blame us the so called foreigners as I arrived here from UK to be with my wife went under quarantine for several days while waiting on test results which was negative. Then came to baguio city to be with my wife and family was then taken to old school where I was told to quarantine for a further 14 days when they should be looking at themselves because the cases still rise not drop but they blame us. Hellllliooooooo there has been a rise for 5 mths no drop yet they blame us. Either tests are contaminated which is why there is rise and no drop. Or there is something seriously wrong with control etc for power and to scare the people. Either way there is something seriously wrong.

First of all, who is they? The government, the police? It’s great that you came to spend time with your wife. The city has had very strict protocols since the beginning of the pandemic. Have you seen the track record the city has had amidst all the rising numbers? Baguio city has done exceptionally well. There has been massive drops in cases here in Baguio while the world charts look like hiking trail up a mountain. If you came from the UK (which has half of the population of the Philippines) you should be quarantined. That is standard in almost every country. UK also has also 3 times the amount of cases. In my opinion, if you are a foreigner, respect the policies of the country you are visiting and keep your version of politics out. Period. If you want to know what is going on in Baguio with the pandemic, do you your homework – find out what has been going on here SINCE the pandemic started. From what I can see, the people of this city strongly respect not only the mayor (who creates many of the regulations and policies), but also the reasons for lockdown. As for control for power and scaring people, people are worried – but not in panic. There is a major difference here between panic (fear with the absence of logic) and being scared which is a completely natural human response. Whatever issues you have with the regulations, take it up with the Immigration office. Or, talk to the city instead.

I strongly recommend you talk to your wife about what the masks and social distancing rules are here, in addition to respecting the M&M protocols and also direction of traffic for walking on Session Road. I’ll iterate it for you one more time. I STRONGLY recommend you keep your political stances out of the country because this isn’t the UK. Who am I? Another foreigner giving you some good advice. Good luck, stay safe and hopefully, you’ll see why everyone here is compliant. It’s not for power at all. It’s because the mayor here loves his city and all the people in it.
