City Tourism Office Eyes Opening of Baguio City to Tourists on September




According to the announcement of the City Tourism Office, the City of Baguio is planning to reopen tourism by September.

Here are the following systems that are being put in place  to ensure the safety of visitors and locals:

For Tourists

  • Tourists will be required to pre-register through the Baguio Visitor Information & Travel Assistance  (VIS.I.T.A) online registration system.
  • Tourists will be required to have pre-booked accommodation preferably through accredited tour operators, and declare itinerary.
  • Upon entry, tourists will undergo mandatory triage and PCR testing to be paid by them.
  • Tourists stay in the hotel until results come out (at most 9 hours), and before going around the city.
  • Tourists’ movement shall be closely monitored by the tour operators and/or hotel management.

For Tour Operators and  Hotel

  • Only those with the Department of Tourism (DOT)-issued Certificate of Authority to Operate (CAO) can accommodate guests.
  • Tourism Operators (TOs) and hotels must require guests to register prior to travel through Baguio VIS.I.T.A.
  • Hotels must ensure observance of health and safety protocols, lest CAO will be revoked.



For City Tourism Managers

  • Ensure regulated and controlled entry and real-time monitoring of tourists’ itinerary through the Baguio VIS.I.T.A.
  • Ensure efficiency of triage and testing process, with supporting health care systems and centers in place.
  • Ensure the protection of personal data and information of tourists.
  • Ensure updated advisories and timely information dissemination relevant and important to locals and tourists.
  • Explore and implement tourism corridors with partner Local Government Units (LGUs) and partner TOs.

Notes

  • Baguio VIS.I.T.A. will be launched within the month.
  • The controlled number of tourists per day will be enforced.
  • Illegal entry of tourists will be dealt with accordingly.

I want to go to baguio city.. our family has a rest house at victoria village quezon hill.i would like to go there for the reason that i need to have our retaining wall fixed due to my fear of erosion due our house is at the top of our lot.. i will be staying for 1 to 2 days becoz i will give instructions to the workers and buy materials at the hardware nearby.. how can you help me?thank you in advance.. my number is 09158707765

Eh pano nman po kmi taga baguio na nagtatrabaho dto sa manila na ayaw nio pauwiin dyan kesyo di nkaaddress dyan sa baguio ung company i.d. nmin kc dto nmin inaddres ung i.d. nmin kc dto kmin tumutuloy sa manila. Sobra higpit nio kawawa nman anak nmin umiiyak na kc 5 months na kmi d makauwi dyan.

  3. No to tourism opening. Bad decisions and thats a bad move. Mahiya kayo sa mga frontliners natin.Ang kapal ng mukha nyo. Can we petition for everybody resignation(Baguio Tourism Office)?I think that’s a good suggestion from a friend from japan. We cannot compromise our health for the sake of money.

  4. We are former Baguio residents. We migrated to Lipa City several years ago. we go home to Baguio frequently. every year. We long to visit Baguio again. Our last visit was last March before the quarantine, If the plan to open Baguio to tourists, we would like to go home again to visit our folks there…. but we will not stay in a hotel. we will go home to my in law’s residence. What would be the procedure? Thank you.
