BLISTT Residents Granted FREE Access to Baguio Botanical Garden After Panagbenga
In a post-Panagbenga gesture of appreciation, residents of the BLISTT areas—Baguio, La Trinidad, Itogon, Sablan, Tuba, and Tublay—have been granted free entry to the Baguio Botanical Garden. This privilege is made possible by an ordinance recently approved by the Baguio City Council.
The ordinance, principally authored by Councilor Jose Molintas, was officially approved on March 17, 2025, and subsequently signed into effect by Mayor Benjamin Magalong today, March 26, 2025. The initiative is intended to express gratitude towards the communities of the BLISTT areas for their enthusiastic support during the recent Panagbenga Festival.
Besides serving as a token of appreciation, the program also seeks to foster environmental awareness and provide recreational and educational opportunities for residents. Until April 20, 2025, BLISTT residents can enjoy free access to various attractions within the Botanical Garden, including the plant exhibits, nature trails, and the expansive main grounds.
To participate, residents must present valid identification that verifies their residency, such as a government-issued ID, driver’s license, passport, barangay clearance, or other recognized documentation.
The City Environment and Parks Management Office (CEPMO) is responsible for maintaining the Botanical Garden and ensuring the effective implementation of this free access initiative. Additionally, the City Tourism Office will spearhead the promotional campaign to inform residents, while the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) will ensure the safety and orderliness of visitors throughout the free access period. Local barangays are also actively involved in disseminating information to their communities about this beneficial program.
Residents are encouraged to make the most of this opportunity to reconnect with nature and enjoy one of Baguio City’s cherished landmarks.
