Baguio-Bound Road Conditions as of August 24, 2026
Major routes leading to Baguio City remain passable as of August 24, 2026, including Marcos Highway, Naguilian Road, the Asin-Nangalisan route, and Kennon Road. However, motorists should take note of vehicle and lane restrictions along some sections, according to the latest DPWH-Cordillera advisory.
The Department of Public Works and Highways-Cordillera Administrative Region (DPWH-CAR) has released its latest Baguio-bound road travel advisory.
Those who need to be on the road are advised to take note of existing restrictions and continue monitoring official updates as road conditions may change.
Passable Baguio-Bound Roads
The following routes are currently passable:
- Asin-Nangalisan-San Pascual-La Union Road
- Marcos Highway
- Baguio-Bauang Road, also known as Naguilian Road
- Kennon Road, subject to vehicle and site restrictions
Kennon Road Passable to Light Vehicles
Kennon Road is passable to the general public but strictly for light vehicles only, with a maximum load limit of 5 tons.
Heavy vehicles are advised to use the following alternate routes:
- Marcos Highway
- Asin-Nangalisan-San Pascual-La Union Boundary Road
Conditions at Camp 2
Motorists using Kennon Road should also take note of the following site conditions:
- The Acrow Bridge at K0223+020, Sitio Camp 2, Barangay Twin Peaks, Tuba, Benguet is closed.
- The detour road at Camp 2 is one-lane passable.
DPWH-CAR also reminded motorists that Kennon Road may be temporarily closed to non-residents if continuous heavy rainfall prevails to ensure the safety of road users.
Halsema Highway: One Lane Passable
A portion of the Baguio-Bontoc Road, also known as Halsema Highway, remains one-lane passable at Caliking in Atok, Benguet.
The restriction is due to a road slip.
Motorists passing through the affected section are advised to exercise caution and follow traffic instructions.
Benguet-Nueva Vizcaya Road Remains Not Passable
The Benguet-Nueva Vizcaya Road remains not passable at Beckel in La Trinidad, Benguet due to a road slip.
The affected section has been closed since June 28, 2026.
Alternate routes are:
- Marlboro-Beckel Road
- Labey-Lacamen Road
