The city has recorded its highest number of cases in a day today as 77 patients have tested positive for the coronavirus disease. According to the Public Information Office of the City of Baguio, the increase in the number stemmed from the two areas in Baguio City wherein the clustering of cases was observed.
Through continuous efforts of the city’s contact tracing team, more cases were identified in two puroks in City Camp Central and one purok in Dominican. Areas have already been placed under hard lockdown last week until October 10 and according to the mayor, 120 more contacts coming from the said areas will be tested in the next coming days.
69 of the 77 cases were determined through contact tracing and one through expanded testing. Six were symptomatic and 1 patient was tested as a travel requirement.

The 77 cases logged today brings the city’s total number of cases to 1,222. 585 are active cases, 621 have recovered from the disease, and 16 are fatalities.
