Benguet is under an Orange Rainfall Warning as of 5:00 PM on Friday, August 7, 2026, with flooding and landslides threatening areas vulnerable to these hazards, according to PAGASA’s Northern Luzon PAGASA Regional Services Division (NLPRSD).
The warning was issued under Heavy Rainfall Warning No. 2 due to rains brought by the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat.
Under the Orange Warning issued for Benguet, flooding and landslides are threatening in flood-prone and landslide-prone areas.
Residents, particularly those living near mountain slopes, waterways, low-lying communities, and areas with a history of landslides or flooding, are advised to take precautionary measures and closely monitor conditions in their surroundings.
Meanwhile, La Union remains under a Yellow Rainfall Warning.
PAGASA said flooding and landslides are possible in areas that are prone to these hazards.
Light to moderate, and at times heavy rains, are expected over portions of the following areas within the next two to three hours:
Similar conditions are already being experienced over several portions of Mountain Province, Nueva Vizcaya, Isabela, Pangasinan, Ifugao, Abra, and Ilocos Sur. These rains may persist for two to three hours and may affect nearby areas.
PAGASA advised the public and concerned Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices to continue monitoring the weather.
Residents along mountain slopes should remain alert for possible landslides, mudslides, rockslides, and flash floods, especially as rains continue over areas already affected by prolonged wet weather.
The next Heavy Rainfall Warning is scheduled to be issued at 8:00 PM on August 7, 2026.
The public is advised to take necessary precautions and continue monitoring official weather and local disaster advisories for updates.
