Kennon Road, Other Cordillera Roads Closed or Restricted as of August 6

Several roads in the Cordillera Administrative Region were reported closed, not passable, or limited to one-lane traffic on August 6, 2026, following continuous heavy rainfall.

The Department of Public Works and Highways-Cordillera Administrative Region released a list of affected national roads as of 11:00 AM. A separate advisory from the Municipal Government of Tublay, issued at 10:55 AM, also identified affected barangay and provincial roads within the municipality.

Motorists are advised to avoid the affected sections, use available alternate routes, and check the latest official advisories before traveling.

Baguio-Bound Roads

Kennon Road

Kennon Road was reported not passable.

Motorists may use the following alternate routes:

  • Marcos Highway
  • Asin–Nangalisan–San Pascual–La Union Boundary Road
  • Naguilian Road

Benguet–Nueva Vizcaya Road

The affected section is located in Beckel, La Trinidad, Benguet.

Alternate routes:

  • Marlboro–Beckel Road
  • Labey–Lacamen Road

Baguio–Itogon Road

The affected section is in Sitio Goldfield, Barangay Poblacion, Itogon.

Affected Road in Kalinga

Mountain Province Boundary–Calanan–Pinukpuk–Abbut Road

The affected section is in Bugnay, Tinglayan, Kalinga. No alternate route was specified in the advisory.

Affected Roads in Mountain Province

The following roads were also reported not passable:

Mountain Province–Nueva Vizcaya Road

  • Affected section: Sitio Finew, Barangay Samoki, Bontoc

Mountain Province–Cagayan Road via Tabuk–Enrile

  • Affected section: Sitio Agadchang, Betwagan, Sadanga

Junction Talubin–Barlig–Natonin–Paracelis–Calaccad Road

  • Affected section: Barangay Talubin, Bontoc

Road Closures in Tublay

In a separate advisory issued at 10:55 AM, the Municipal Government of Tublay reported several road closures caused by road damage, strong river flow, mudslides, and landslides.

Closed Barangay Road

  • Talaib Section: Closed due to severe road damage and extreme river flow.

Totally Closed Roads

  • Alno–Induyan–Tuel Provincial Road: Closed due to a mudslide.
  • Diogao, Basil: Closed due to a landslide near the barangay hall.
  • Suyoc, Sayatan to Ba-ayan Road: Closed due to a landslide.
  • Sitio Sub-ong, Ambassador: Reported totally closed. The advisory did not specify the cause.

One-Lane Passable

  • GBD National Road, Antahay–Daclan section along Acop–Kapangan: Only one lane is passable due to a landslide. Motorists are advised to proceed with extreme caution.

The Tublay Municipal Government advised the public to avoid non-essential travel because road conditions may change at any time amid continuous rainfall.

Motorists should follow the instructions of local authorities and continue monitoring advisories from DPWH-CAR and the Tublay Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office before traveling.
