Tropical Depression Maymay is now over the Philippine Sea, PAGASA said late Thursday afternoon, August 6, 2026. While Baguio City and Benguet are no longer listed under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 in the 5:00 PM bulletin, several areas in Benguet, including Baguio City, remain under Yellow Rainfall Warning.
According to PAGASA’s 5:00 PM advisory, the center of Tropical Depression Maymay was estimated 150 kilometers east northeast of Echague, Isabela.
Maymay has maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 60 kilometers per hour.
It is moving east southeastward at 35 kilometers per hour.
Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 remains raised over the following areas:
Areas under Signal No. 1 may experience strong winds with minimal to minor impacts possible.
PAGASA Northern Luzon issued Heavy Rainfall Warning No. 7 at 5:00 PM due to Tropical Depression Maymay.

A Yellow Rainfall Warning is also raised over the following areas in La Union:
PAGASA said flooding and landslides may still prevail in flood-prone and landslide-prone areas.
Light to moderate to at times heavy rains are being experienced in northern Aurora, portions of Isabela, Quirino, the rest of Benguet, the rest of La Union, Nueva Vizcaya, Pangasinan, and portions of Ifugao.
These rains may persist within 2 to 3 hours and may affect nearby areas.
Similar conditions are also expected over the rest of Aurora, portions of Cagayan, the rest of Isabela, Kalinga, portions of Ilocos Sur, portions of Abra, Mountain Province, and the rest of Ifugao within the next 2 to 3 hours.
PAGASA said the Southwest Monsoon and the outer circulation of Maymay may continue to bring strong to gale-force gusts over most of the country until Saturday, August 8.
Local winds may be stronger in coastal, upland, and mountainous areas exposed to winds.
Residents are advised to secure loose outdoor objects and continue monitoring rainfall advisories.
A Gale Warning remains in effect over the seaboard of Extreme Northern Luzon.
Very rough seas may affect the seaboard of Batanes, with waves reaching up to 4.5 meters.
Rough seas may also affect the seaboard of Babuyan Islands, the northeastern seaboard of mainland Cagayan, the eastern seaboard of Davao Oriental, and other listed coastal waters.
Mariners of small seacrafts and motorbancas are advised not to venture out to sea under these conditions.
PAGASA said Maymay is forecast to continue weakening and may be downgraded into a remnant low tonight or early tomorrow.
The remnant low of Maymay is expected to move generally southeastward until it merges into the larger circulation of Tropical Cyclone Dolphin.
The next advisory will be issued at 11:00 PM today.
