Baguio City recorded 200 new cases today, January 8, 2022




Baguio City recorded 200 new cases, eight new recoveries, and zero deaths, today January 8, 2022. It can be observed that the rise in the number of cases in Baguio City started after the holiday season. The COVID-19 variant that is causing the surge is yet to be determined. As of the latest, the IATF approved the recommendation of its sub-technical working group to place Baguio City under Alert level 3.

As a result of the detection of new cases in Baguio City, several areas have been placed in lockdown. The following are the areas under lockdown order:

– Woodsville Subdivision

4. Loakan Proper

6. San Roque Village
– San Roque Road

7. St. Joseph Village
– Siapno Road

1. Bakakeng Norte/Sur
-Puroks 7 & 9
– Block 2A, Eagle Crest Villa

2. Pacdal
– Siapno Road

3. Sto. Tomas Proper
– Interior A, Balacbac Road

Cases Recorded in the Cordillera Region

Different provinces in the Cordillera region also recorded new cases today, this is according to the data released by the Department of Health Cordillera. The breakdown of cases per province is as follows;

  • Abra – 1
  • Apayao – 6
  • Benguet – 44 (44 for verification)
  • Ifugao – 3 (1 for verification)
  • Kalinga – 36
  • Mt. Province – 2

With the increasing number of cases, the public is again reminded to take all necessary precautions and observe the minimum public health standards at all times.
