The City Government of Baguio through the Public information office has announced the additional guidelines for travelers going into the city of pines. Here are the salient points of the announcements:

Antigen Test results will no longer be accepted

As part of the preparation and mitigation procedure of Baguio City to combat the Delta variant, the city will no longer be accepting antigen tests. According to the WHO, CDC and DOH the RT-PCR test is considered to be the gold standard for COVID-19 test because it is highly sensitive and highly specific.




Negative RT-PCR Test Requirement

As mentioned in EO 95, unvaccinated APOR’s entering Baguio City regardless of the quarantine classification of their place of origin will have to present among other documentary requirements a Negative RT-PCR test result which is conducted 72 hours before entry to Baguio City. For individuals who are fully vaccinated, they can present their vaccination document instead of a negative RT-PCR test result.

Recently, the city of Baguio suspended non-essential travel from all areas regardless of quarantine classification until August 15,2021 as indicated in Advisory 8-2021. On August 16, 2021, the City of Baguio will reopen for non-essential travels, however, this is only for those coming from areas with GCQ and MGCQ quarantine classifications. In addition, unvaccinated travelers must present a negative RT-PCR test result conducted within 72 hours prior to entry to Baguio City. 

Note that the negative RT-PCR test is only one of the requirements, for non-essential travelers, they must still register via visita.baguio.gov.ph and follow the other requirements mandated.

Non-essential travel from areas under ECQ, MECQ and GCQ with heightened restrictions are still NOT ALLOWED.
