Baguio City recorded 646 new cases yesterday, January 18, 2022




The number of new cases in Baguio City continues to rise as the city recorded 646 new cases yesterday, January 18, 2022. Four hundred and seventy (470) of the new cases yesterday were classified under mild cases while one hundred sixty-nine were classified as asymptomatic. These two classifications are what made up most of the cases recorded yesterday. Three hundred forty-four (344) new recoveries were also recorded yesterday.

The city also recorded four (4) cases classified as moderate, one (1) severe, and one (1) critical. Three (3) deaths were also recorded yesterday and were identified as follows:

  • 45 years old Male
  • 64 years old Male
  • 93 years old Female

Last January 16 and 17, 2022, Baguio recorded 586 and 535 new cases respectively.

As the cases continue to rise, the Local Government of Baguio also imposed new lockdown orders in addition to the existing lockdown orders. The areas under new lockdown orders are:

  • Atok Trail – Upper Atok Trail
  • Upper Quezon Hill – Mercury Street
  • Honeymoon-Holyghost – Purok 5 Alley
  • Middle Quezon Hill – Purok 5
  • Padre Zamora – Purok 1

These new cases brings the total active cases to three thousand nine hundred ninety (3,990).
