Aringay-Tubao Alternate Road going to Baguio City is now open

It’s the perfect time to start planning your vacation in Baguio City. Now that the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) opened two major infrastructure projects in the province of La Union, you can finally enjoy a shorter, hassle-free travel to Baguio.

The Anduyan Bridge is a 360-lineal meter section that stretches along Anduyan-Rizal-San Pascual-Nangalesan-Asin Road in Tubao, La Union. It is complemented by the alternate road, a 14.24 kilometers road section along Aringay-Tubao, La Union that leads to a scenic travel to Baguio via the route going to Asin Hotspring in Tuba, Benguet.

“This alternate route will lessen travel time from Tuba, La Union to Benguet from two hours to 35 minutes and will cut travel time from 2 hours and 25 minutes to just one hour going to Baguio City,” DPWH Secretary Mark Villar said.

Another notable advantage of having this alternate road is that it will help decongest traffic in Marcos Highway especially now that Kennon Road is still not passable.

Aside from these improvements, Villar also shared importance of the bridge saying, “The beauty of this project is that locals does not need to use raft (balsa) to cross the Aringay river as they now have a bridge which they can use every day.”

So what are you waiting for? It’s time to make your dream vacation a reality. It’s time to experience Christmas in Baguio.
