Baguio City has recorded 118 new cases on Wednesday, March 3, 2021. According to the Public Information Office of the city, the 118 cases were the result of aggressive community testing and the majority of the patients are employees of business process outsourcing (BPO) companies.

Furthermore, the city has recorded 19 recoveries and 1 fatality yesterday.

Among the 118 cases; 104 cases were contact traced, 7 cases were expanded tested, and 7 cases were symptomatic. These are the details of the cases logged yesterday:

In addition, Mayor Benjamin Magalong stated that they expect more cases as contact tracing and expanded testing operations continue on call center workers numbering 500 in one company alone.

Furthermore, PIO added that the workers had been put on quarantine while awaiting tests and test results.

Also, a meeting was conducted yesterday with BPO company representatives where agreements were reached and commitments given by the firms for implementation of control measures for the containment of the outbreak.
